DONALD R. EDWARDS
Donald R. Edwards, 81, of Payson, died at 1:56 a.m. Sunday (June 10, 2007) in St. Vincent's Home.
Born September 13, 1925 in Kinderhook, Illinois, Don was the son of Charles Glenn and Pauline Margaret Wright Edwards. He married Amelia Sydney on October 6, 1946 in Hannibal, Missouri. She survives.
Don was a member of the Plainville United Methodist Church and was an avid NASCAR and Jeff Gordon fan. Don was devoted to his family and cherished the time he spent with them.
Don farmed for many years in the Liberty, Kinderhook and Plainville area, retiring in 1986. He also sold House Bird Seed and drove a school bus for the Payson School District for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Amelia; two sons, Mike Edwards and his wife Judy of Conroe, TX. and Dennie Edwards and his wife Mary Lou of Hannibal, MO.; a daughter, Paula Marshall and her husband Steve of Payson; seven grandchildren, Shawn Edwards, Christopher Edwards, Troy Edwards, Pam Morton and her husband Jeff, Wendy Riney and her husband Matt, Darin Edwards and his wife Janice and Kristina Thompson and her husband Mark; thirteen great grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Charles E. Edwards, Glenn J. Edwards and Russell Edwards; and a sister, Virginia Bunte.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10:00 in the Plainville United Methodist Church by the Rev. Ron Cox. Burial will be in Payson New Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Payson and Wednesday morning from 9:00 until the time of services at the Plainville United Methodist Church.
