
DONALD R. MILLER
Mr. Donald R. Miller, 64, of 923 Shady Acres Lane, died at 11:55 p.m. Thursday (April 26, 2007) near Coatsburg.
Born November 21, 1942 in Quincy, Don was the son of Elzie and Loney Belle Jackson Miller. He married Kathryn Schalk on May 24, 1969 in Quincy. She survives.
Don enjoyed hunting and fishing and especially cherished the time he spent on his farm with his family and grandchildren. He was employed in the tool and die department at Moorman Manufacturing and later ADM until his retirement in 2002. Following his retirement, Don enjoyed working on his farm north of Coatsburg.
Also surviving is a son, Jeremy Miller and his wife Vickie of Mendon; a daughter, Amy Behrensmeyer and her husband Andy of Quincy; three grandchildren, Shelby and Shannon Behrensmeyer, both of Quincy and Katelyn Miller of Mendon; a sister, Maria Owens of Pittsfield, IL., five half sisters, Hilda Spidle and Pansie Schroder, both of Quincy, Carolyn Masterson of Mendon, Mary Schroder of Danville, IL. and Frances Campbell of Coatsburg; four half brothers, William Shaffer Jr. of Fowler, Fredrick Shaffer and Johnny Shaffer, both of Quincy and Willy Shaffer of Loraine; a step brother, Wilber Shaffer of Quincy; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Albert Miller, Robert Miller and Elzie Miller Jr.; a step brother, Joe Shaffer; two half sisters, Loney Belle Reno and Margaret Miles; and a step sister, Hazel Appledorn.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 3:00 in Greenmount Cemetery by Rev. Tim White.
Visitation will be held Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 until 2:45 at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
