DONALD L. DICKINSON

Mr. Donald L. Dickinson, 62, of 2208 Rancho Blvd., died at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday (February 28, 2006) in his home.

Born August 15, 1943 in Quincy, Don was the son of Carl W. and Mildred M. Kerksieck Dickinson. He married Marilyn K. Evans on October 27, 1989 in Peoria, Illinois. She survives.

Don was a member of the Elks Lodge No. 100 and South Side Boat Club. He enjoyed working outdoors in his yard and flower gardening. Mr. Dickinson served his country in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam War.

Don began his airline career in 1969 with Ozark Airlines, which later became Trans World Airlines. He currently was employed in ramp service with American Airlines.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn of Hanna City, IL.; a brother, Richard Dickinson of Quincy; two sons, Shawn Dickinson and his wife Tracy of Marquette Heights, IL. and Donald L. Dickinson Jr. of Hanna City, IL.; three daughters, Shannon Jarots and her husband Jeff of Plainfield, IL., Christine Dickinson of Hanna City, IL. and Vicki Stoubough and her husband Jim of Farmington, IL.; five grandchildren, Brandon, Molly and Mallery Jarots all of Plainfield, IL. and Shawn Sarver and Ashley Dickinson both of Marquette Heights, IL.; two nieces, Kimberly K. Meyer and her husband Billy of Quincy and Dawn R. Guthrie and her husband Tony of Grays Lake, IL.; and six great nieces and great nephews.

Mr. Dickinson was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Joyce Dickinson.

Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 10:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. George Tomko. Burial with Military Honors by Quincy American Legion Post 37 will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 3:00 to 6:00 and Monday until the time of services at the funeral home. Elks Lodge No. 100 will conduct services at 6:00 Sunday evening at the funeral home.
