DONALD R. ROWSEY SR.

Mr. Donald Richard Rowsey Sr., 75, of 1100 South 24th, died at 10:15 a.m. Friday (September 30, 2005) in the North Adams Home in Mendon.

Born April 29, 1930 in Quincy, Donald was the son of Lloyd E. and Manilla Lilly Mae McGee Rowsey. He was married to Margaret Dorothy McDaniel who preceded him in death in 1967.

Mr. Rowsey enjoyed gardening, bird watching and spending time outdoors. He was employed as a chemist for Celotex for many years, retiring in 1996.

Survivors include two sons, Donald R. Rowsey II and his wife Peggy and David E. Rowsey both of Quincy; four daughters, Doreen Mathews and her husband Rick of Salinas, CA., Marlene Crabtree and Mike Creely of St. Louis, MO., and Christine McNeal and Tracy Nolan-Reed and her husband Todd both of Quincy; twelve grandchildren; several great grandchildren; a brother, Dale Rowsey of Quincy; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Rowsey was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother Russel Merle Rowsey in infancy.

Cremation rites have been accorded to Mr. Rowsey. Memorial services will be held Wednesday morning at 10:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Pastor Bruce Willard. Inurnment will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

There will be no visitation, but friends are invited to the services.

Memorials may be made to the Adams County Red Cross or the Blessing Foundation for Hospice.
