DORIS M. FOSTER

Mrs. Doris M. Foster, 85, of the Good Samaritan Home, formerly of 2634 South 12th, died at 4:30 a.m. Thursday (November 2, 2006) in Blessing Hospital.

Born June 21, 1921 in Quincy, Doris was the daughter of Frank J. and Lucy E. Franks Hussong. She married Robert E. "Bob" Foster on October 6, 1957 in Trinity United Church of Christ in Quincy. He died July 11, 2003.

Doris was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, a 50 year member and Past Worthy Matron of Alpha Chapter 109 Order of Eastern Star, a charter member and Past President of Daughters of the Nile ABBEBA Temple No. 42, and a 30 year member of the South Side Boat Club Ladies Aid Society. Doris was a 1938 graduate of Quincy High School and served as committee chairwoman on all of their class reunions.

Doris was employed in the cosmetic department at Walgreen for 21 years until her retirement.

Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Peter and her husband Ross of Quincy; a step son, John Foster of Quincy; two grandchildren, Cory Peter and his wife Elizabeth of Westmont, IL. and Erin Lewke and her husband Bo of New York, N. Y.; a step grandchild, Joshua Foster of Tampa, FL. and a great grandchild, Jordan Peter of Westmont, IL.

Mrs. Foster was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Richard Hussong and Kenneth Hussong; and a sister, Maxine Willing.

Cremation rites have been accorded to Mrs. Foster. Memorial graveside services will be held Monday morning at 10:30 in Greenmount Cemetery by Rev. Tim White.

There is no visitation, but friends are invited to the graveside service. The Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
