DOROTHY M. COBB
Mrs. Dorothy M. Cobb, 92 of Dayton, Ohio, formerly of 611 Country Club Heights, died at 7:50 p.m. Sunday (February 5, 2006) in the Spring Creek Nursing Home in Dayton, Ohio.
Born March 10, 1913 in Quincy, Dorothy was the daughter of William Charles and Amelia Boge Burgtorf. She married Frank C. Cobb on October 24, 1936 in Quincy. He preceded her in death on November 18, 1978.
Dorothy was a member of Union United Methodist Church, the Amity Sunday School Class and the United Methodist Women. She enjoyed working outdoors and loved quilting and needlework. Dorothy and Frank traveled extensively, but settled back in Quincy following his retirement. In 2000, Dorothy moved to Dayton, Ohio to be closer to her children.
Surviving are two daughters, Carol Gillentine of Greensboro, N. C. and Janet Stueve and her husband Mark of Dayton, OH.; a son, Phillip Cobb and his wife Nancy of Waverly, VA.; six grandchildren, Scott Gillentine,
Andrea Mellett, Joshua Stueve, Joseph Stueve, Mark Cobb, David Cobb; and two great grandchildren, Rachel and Aaron Mellett.
Mrs. Cobb was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Russell Burgtorf; and a sister, Bernice Henderson.
Graveside memorial services will be held Thursday morning at 10:00 in Quincy Memorial Park by the Rev. Robert Morwell.
There will be no visitation, but friends are invited to the services. The Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
