DOROTHY C. HOENER

Ms. Dorothy C. Hoener, 87, of Sunset Home, formerly of 828 Monroe, died at 6:16 a.m. Tuesday (September 13, 2005) at Blessing Hospital.

Born November 13, 1917 in Quincy, Dorothy was the daugher of Harry W. and Amanda Hermsmeier Hoener.

Ms. Hoener was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ. She was a graduate of Quincy Senior High School and a member of the 10 Year Plus Club at Blessing Hospital. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoyed walking, traveling, crocheting, needlework and learning about Native American culture and the Old West. Dorothy's greatest joy was being "Aunt Dorothy" to her many nieces and nephews.

Dorothy worked at the Hosiery Mill in Quincy before becoming a pharmacy clerk at Blessing Hospital for 18 years. She retired in 1982.

Surviving is a sister, Wilma Walz of Phoenix, AZ.; four nieces, Jan Wiemelt and her husband Kirby of Quincy and Linda Meier and her husband Paul of East Moline, IL., Sharon Thompson and her husband James of
Goodyear, AZ. and Maureen Edwards and her husband David of Phoenix, AZ.; three nephews, Harry "Skip" Hoener and his wife Rose of LaPorte, IN., Michael Conner of Burbank, CA. and Terry Conner of Casa Grande, AZ. and .; and several great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10:30 at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Rev. Timothy White. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 and Friday morning until the time of services at the funeral home.
