DOROTHY VANCAMP

Dorothy VanCamp, 87, of Sunset Home, formerly of 901 South 36th died at 4:50 p.m. Saturday (June 6, 2009) in the home.

Born January 26, 1922 in Quincy, Dorothy was the daughter N.B. and G.E. Numann Brown. She married Charles A. VanCamp Sr. on June 15, 1940 in Troy, MO. He preceded her in death on December 29, 1967.

Dorothy enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and reading. She volunteered by delivering Christmas and birthday presents to shut ins. She was a wonderful mother and homemaker and cherished the time she spent with her family.

Survivors include three sons Charles A. VanCamp Jr. and his wife Mavis of Quincy; Gary L. VanCamp and his friend Peggy Keller of Quincy; and Steven M. VanCamp of Jacksonville, IL; two daughters Cathy Hasty of Hannibal and Diane Lovins and her husband Don of Cabot, AR; ten grandchildren, Jon VanCamp, Kimberly Johannes and her husband John, Chad VanCamp, Stacey Mock, Amy VanCamp and Greg VanCamp all of Quincy; Jim Lovins of Little Rock, AR.; Ben Lovins and his wife Beth of Jackson, TN, Richie Harland and his wife Glenna and Nicky Bosley and her husband Billy, both of Hannibal. Also surviving are fourteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 11:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Harris officiating. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 and Wednesday morning until the time of services.
