EARL R. WALBRING

Mr. Earl Ray Walbring, 91, of 2410 South 8th, died at 12:45 p.m. Monday (February 12, 2007) in Blessing Hospital.

Born December 6, 1915 in Quincy, Earl was the son of Louis and Frances Degitz Walbring. He married Edna F. Siebers on January 23, 1941 in Palmyra, Missouri. She survives.

Earl was a member of Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ, a longtime member of South Side Boat Club, a 71 year member of Twin Oaks Club and a 61 year member of Quincy American Legion Post 37. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and baseball Cardinal fan and enjoyed woodworking, playing pool and cards with his family and friends and gardening. Earl was well known for growing and selling his tomatoes.

Mr. Walbring was employed as a Route Saleman for Bueter's Baking Company for 30 years and was awarded a pin for 30 years of safe driving with the company. He later worked as a security guard and groundskeeper for Quincy People's Saving and Loan for 8 years until his retirement.

Survivors include his wife, Edna; two sons, Ronald Walbring and his wife Connie and Dean Walbring both of Quincy; grandchildren and great grandchildren, Rodney Walbring and his wife Brenda and their children, Kendra and Gavin of Quincy, Karen Esterlein and her husband Skip and their children, Mercedee and Jersee of Quincy, Sharon Cote and her husband David and their children Jasmyne and Jordan of Clearwater, FL., Jill Anderson and her husband Clint and their children, Cherish, Chancey and Dycen of Plano, TX., Deana Brink and her husband Walter and their children, Aric and Ellie of Quincy and Lori Walbring of Clearwater, FL.; a sister, Ruth Grimm and her husband Charles of Quincy; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Walbring was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Steven Earl Walbring; and four brothers, Chester, Albert, Lester and Norman Walbring.

Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Wanda Seydel. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 and Friday until the time of services at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
