
ED MCCLELLAND
Mr. Charles Edgar "Ed" McClelland, 81, of 2700 N. 16th, died at 2:02 p.m. Wednesday (August 31, 2005) in Blessing Hospital.
Born February 8, 1924 near Mendon, Illinois, Ed was the son of Ray and Helen McNay McClelland. He married Loraine Lantz on August 14, 1945 in Quincy. She survives. Ed and Loraine recently celebrated their 60th Anniversary.
Ed was a member of the Elks Lodge No. 100 and the Blue and White Antique Club. He was an avid Blue
Devil Basketball fan and he enjoyed boating and antiquing.
Ed was employed as a press operator for 37 years at Electric Wheel, a division of Firestone Tire and Rubber Company. He retired in 1981.
Survivors include his wife, Loraine; a daughter, Beverly Springett and her husband Ron of Surprise, AZ.; a grandson, Steve Springett of Aurora, IL.; three brothers, Richard McClelland and his wife Rachael of Tuscon,
AZ., Lowell McClelland and his wife Barb of Quincy and Lyle McClelland and his wife Pat of Ursa, IL.; five sisters, Thelma Keim, Marian Tenhouse and her husband Don, Pat Seals and her husband Jerry and Sandra Fessler and her husband Bill all of Quincy and Ruth Whipps of Ursa, IL.; a sister in law, Cleone McClelland of Ursa, IL.;
a brother in law, Clinton McClelland of Quincy; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. McClelland was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Alma Downs; two brothers, Donald McClelland and a brother in infancy; and two brothers in law, Roger Keim and Leonard Whipps.
Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home. Burial will be in the New Providence Cemetery near Ursa.
Visitation will be Friday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 and Saturday until the time of services at the funeral home.
