Mrs. Edith Mae Long, 80, of 1024 Jackson, died at 5:00 a.m. Monday (July 18, 2005) in her home.
Born January 24, 1925 in Chambersburg, Illinois, Edith was the daughter of Beal and Daisy DeWitt Ham. She married Robert L. Long on December 31, 1946 in Quincy. He survives.
Edith enjoyed going to car races and growing her flowers. She loved spending time with her friends and taking care of her family, specializing in cooking and cleaning.
Survivors include her husband, Robert; a daughter, Linda Anderson of Bunnell, FL., a son, Larry Long and his wife Barbara of Camp Point, IL.; four grandchildren, Renee Oshner and her husband Glenn of Quincy, Ryan Clark of Orlando, FL., Michelle Kasparie and her husband Jeff of Camp Point, IL. and Melissa Likes and her husband Tony of Springfield, IL.; seven great grandchildren; a sister, Betty Chambers of Meredosia, IL.; a brother, Enoch Ham and his wife Louise of Perry, IL.; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Long was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Chaplain Steve Disseler. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 and Friday until the time of services at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
