Mr. Edward A. Krusbe, 88, of the Illinois Veterans Home, formerly of Bensenville, died at 10:25 a.m. Sunday (June 4, 2006) at the Veterans Home.
Born December 13, 1917 in Chicago, Edward was the son of Edward F. and Mary Cerney Krusbe. He married Lucille L. Szerlong on October 25, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois. She survives.
Mr. Krusbe served his country in the U. S. Army during WW II in the Asiatic Pacific Theater receiving two Bronze Battle Stars. He was employed as a carpenter in the Chicago area for many years and was a member of the Carpenter's Union.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille of Quincy; two daughters, Judy Eichorst and her husband Arnie of Independence, MO. and Shirley Whorton and her husband Robert of Keizer, OR.; four grandchildren, Ted Natzel and his wife Julie, Allison Lorr and her husband Albert, Sean Whorton and Jessica Vendolski and her husband Paul; and eight great grandchildren.
Mr. Krusbe was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Jeanette L. Krusbe; a brother, James Krusbe; and a sister, Lillian Buoscio.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 8:30 in the All Faiths Chapel at the Illinois Veterans Home by the Rev. Richard Jeske. Graveside services with Miltary Honors will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 in the Mount Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst, Illinois by Deacon Michael Principe.
