ELEANORE M. LIGHTLE

Mrs. Eleanore M. Lightle, 77, of Payson, died at 3:21 p.m. Sunday (August 12, 2007) in her home.

Born June 22, 1930 in Hadley Township in Pike County, Illinois, Eleanore was the daughter of Charles L. and Lillian Hull Kelley. She married Merle R. "Bud" Lightle on April 26, 1947 in Quincy. He preceded her in death on April 10, 2007.

Mrs. Lightle received her Bachelor of Science Degree in History from Quincy College in 1978. She was employed as a substitute teacher for school districts in the area. Mrs. Lightle was a devoted genealogist. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and her children and grandchildren are members of the Mayflower Society. She had been a 4-H Leader and Cub Scout Leader. Eleanore was an excellent seamstress and devoted many hours sewing professionally and for her enjoyment.

Surviving are three daughters, Pamela Kimlinger and her husband Melvin of Lompoc, CA., Nancy Peebles and her husband Richard of Pittsfield, IL. and Sally Colleen Lightle of Payson, IL.; a son, Merle R. "Randy" Lightle and his wife Vickie of Atlanta, GA.; eight grandchildren, Todd Peebles and his wife Jessica, Jonathan Peebles, Beth Peebles, Julie Lightle, Jenifer Lightle, Kelley Kimlinger, Bill Kimlinger and his wife Deanna and Brian Kimlinger and his wife Jennifer; five great grandchildren, Cole Wagy, Ashleigh Kimlinger, Brittany Kimlinger, Madalyn Kimlinger, and Taylor Grace Peebles; and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and 9 brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 1:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Payson by Pastor Robert Dean. Burial will be in Payson New Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 5:30 until 7:30 and Friday morning until the time of services at the funeral home.
