ELIZABETH MADISON

Mrs. Elizabeth Madison, 88, of 2527 Lake Drive S., died at 11:30 a.m. Monday ( June 6, 2005) in Blessing Hospital.

Born October 22, 1916 in Shelbina, Missouri, Elizabeth was the daughter of Earl and Dora Dell Alexander Blackford. She married James "Roy" Madison on September 21, 1935 in Shelbina, Missouri. He died August 12, 1993.

Elizabeth was a member of Union United Methodist Church and a graduate of Shelbina High School. She enjoyed gardening, flowers and antiquing.

Mrs. Madison was employed as a lab technician for Marion Laboratories for several years and then worked as executive secretary for Ewing M. Kaufman, owner of the Marion Pharmaceutical Company in Kansas City, Missouri.

Surviving are two grandchildren, Jeffrey Ator and his wife Kathleen of Auburn, IL. and Lisa G. Brumbaugh and her husband Steve of Worth, IL.; four great grandchildren, Jessica R. Ator and Jeremy R. Ator, both of Auburn, IL., and Phillip R. Brumbaugh and Daniel G. Brumbaugh, both of Worth, IL.; a brother, Weldon Blackford and his wife Kathryn of Shelbyville, IL.; a sister, Lois Tyner and her husband Claude of Shelbina, MO.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and infant son, James Roy Madison Jr.; a daughter, Betty Joan Ator; and a sister, Geraldine Carroll.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home Rev. Hugh Rohrer. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 in the Shelbina Cemetery in Shelbina, Missouri.

Visitation will be held Wednesday morning from 9:30 until the time of services at the funeral home.
