
ETHEL LEE BLIVEN
Mrs. Ethel Lee Bliven, 83, of the Good Samaritan Home, formerly of 1224 South 12th, died at 9:57 a.m. Sunday (April 1, 2007) in Good Samaritan Home.
Born August 31, 1923 in Quincy, Ethel Lee was the daughter of Ray and Ethel Bartelt Spilker. She married Junior H. Bliven on October 1, 1941 in Quincy. He preceded her in death on September 27, 1992.
Mrs. Bliven was a member of Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ where she taught Sunday School for over 25 years and was a member and Past President of the Women's Guild and the Women's Guild Past Presidents Club. She was also a member of the Quincy Christian Women's Club and a Past President of the Good Samaritan Home Auxilary.
A graduate of Quincy High School, Mrs. Bliven had worked at J.C. Penny for several years.
Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Knorr and her husband Ron of Fowler; a son, Richard K. Bliven Sr. and his wife Jennifer of Quincy; grandchildren and great grandchildren, Richard K. Bliven Jr. and his wife Laura and their children, Jacob, Nicholas and Leah, Michael S. Bliven and his wife Laura and their child, Zach, David Knorr and his wife Kim and their children, Gabriella, Aden, Josh and Konnar and Leanne Knorr and her friend Kent Williams and her children, Kevin, Tyler and Kathryn; a sister, Shirley Jackson and her husband Robert of Quincy; a brother in law, Robert Bliven and his wife Nancy of Quincy; two sisters in law, Alma Wittkopf of Gardner, KS. and Carlene Bliven of Quincy; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Bliven was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Wesley Spilker; and two brothers in law, Chester Bliven and Frank Wittkopf.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Pastor Steve Disseler. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 and Wednesday until the time of services at the funeral home.
