ETHEL I. NICHOLSON

Mrs. Ethel I. Nicholson, 95, of Golden Good Shepherd Home, formerly of 612 S. 6th St., died at 12:05 p.m. Sunday (August 14, 2005) in the home.

Born September 6, 1909 in Gilmer Township, Adams County, Illinois, Ethel was the daughter of John and Emma Bunte Schnell. She married Ernest F. "Nick" Nicholson on June 8, 1930 in St. Matthew Lutheran Church Parsonage in Adams County. He died January 15, 1997.

Ethel was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. She and her husband enjoyed wintering in Sarasota, Florida for over 15 years. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother who was devoted to his family and will be missed by all whose lives she touched.

Surviving is a daughter, Bonnie Janssen and her husband Jerry of Augusta, IL.; a son, Edgar Nicholson and his wife Polly of Hannibal, MO.; five grandchildren, David Janssen and his wife Karen of Augusta, IL., Diana Rush and her husband Steve of Fowler, IL., Andy Nicholson and Mark Nicholson and his wife Loraine, both of Springfield, IL. and Laurie Hatfield and her husband Bruce of Quincy; and 13 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Bud and Roy Schnell and two sisters, Myrtle Felgar and Edna Hillenbrenner.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 10:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Rev. Mark Eddy. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Tuesday morning from 9:30 until the time of services at the funeral home.
