EVELENA M. ANDERS

Mrs. Evelena M. Anders, 82, of 510 West Main, Hull, Illinois, died at 8:33 p.m. Wednesday (June 24, 2009) in Blessing Hospital.

Born April 17, 1927 in Quincy, Evelena was the daughter of James Alfred and Jane Demoine Goodwin. She married Harry Roy Anders on August 2, 1941 in Palmyra, Missouri. He preceded her in death on May 19, 1991.

Evelena enjoyed playing Bingo and her trips to the riverboats, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

Survivors include four sons, Ernest Anders of Quincy, Timothy Anders and his wife Susan of Quincy, Anthony "Tony" Anders and his wife Debbie of Hull, IL and Bobby Anders with whom she made her home with in Hull; three daughters, Delores "Dee" Mayfield of Hull, IL, Mary Jane Campbell of Quincy and Maxine Anders of Quincy; nineteen grandchildren; twenty two great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; a sister, Moleta Echternkamp of Quincy; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Anders was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harry; a daughter, Ruth Jane Anders; a granddaughter, Kirsten Renier; five brothers, Fred Goodwin, Harvey Goodwin, George Goodwin, Irven Goodwin and Charles Goodwin; three sisters, Mary Crenshaw, Laura Bacon and Holly Goodwin; two sons in law, Larry Mayfield and Edward Campbell; and a daughter in law, Judy Anders.

Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 11:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Bruce Rice. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 and Saturday morning from 10:00 until the time of services at the funeral home.
