EVELYN KUHN

Mrs. Evelyn Kuhn, 90, of the Good Samaritan Home, formerly of Payson, died at 11:20 a.m. Friday (January 15, 2010) at Good Samaritan Home.

Born November 23, 1919 in Burton, Illinois, Evelyn was the daughter of Walter G. and Emma Meyer Schmidt. She married Loren E. Kuhn on November 13, 1965 in Payson. He preceded her in death on November 8, 2003.

Evelyn was a member of the Payson United Methodist Church where she was active with the United Methodist Women. She enjoyed quilting and cooking, but loved taking care of her family who will dearly miss her.

Survivors include her nieces and nephews, Vicki Epperson and her husband Mike of Payson, IL, Diana Miles and her husband Marty Payson, IL, Kimberly Zeilman and her husband John of O'Fallon, IL, Eldon Schmidt and his wife Barbara of O'Fallon, IL, Raymond Schmidt and his wife Joyce of Morton, IL, Lozelle Schmidt and his wife Annette of Burton, IL, Larry Fischer and his wife Tammy of Quincy and Donna Williams of Quincy; three step daughters, Ellen Phelps and her husband Fred of Coalsburg, IA, Irene Eades and her husband Carroll of New Berlin, IL and Linda Schrader and her husband Emmett of Warsaw, IL; her step daughter in law, Jeanette Elliott and her husband John of Liberty, IL; four step grandchildren, Gary Kuhn and his wife Pat of Payson, IL, Michelle Klotzbach and her husband Mike of St. Peters, MO, Shawn Schrader and his wife Melissa of Switzerland and Aaron Rainey and his wife Nikki of DeSoto, KS; seven step great grandchildren, Benjamin Kuhn, Jonathan Kuhn, Nathanial Kuhn, Mackenzie Klotzbach, William Klotzbach, Ethan Schrader and Aidan Schrader; several great nieces and great nephews including, Haley Epperson, Chase Epperson, Carley Epperson, Amanda Window and her husband Ryan, Samantha Kerr and her husband Steve and Alexandra Zeilman; and great great nieces and great great nephews including, Lexi Window.

Mrs. Kuhn was preceded in death by her parents; her step mother, Nora Schmidt; her husband, Loren; a step son, Leslie Kuhn; four brothers, Harold Schmidt, Ralph Schmidt, Waldo Schmidt and Edgar Schmidt; and a sister, Gladys Louise Fischer.

Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:00 in the Payson United Methodist Church by Pastor Stacy Tomich. Burial will be in the Payson New Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 1:00 until the time of services at Payson United Methodist Church.

The Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Payson is in charge of the arrangements.
