FERN L. JONES

Mrs. Fern L. Jones, 74, of North Adams Home, formerly of Harvest Hills, died at 5:40 a.m Saturday (May 20, 2006) at the home.

Born April 5, 1932 in Kahoka, Missouri, Fern was the daughter of Robert M. and Fannie Farris Cook.

Fern was a member of Grandview Baptist Church where she was a member of the Deaconess Board, Head of the Children's Church and a Sunday School Teacher for many years. She also served as liaison between the church and the Madonna House. Her hearts desire was, that ALL would know Christ as their Lord and Savior.

Mrs. Jones was employed in the electronics field for many years and later worked at Sears in Chicago. She also worked with Transitions of Western Illinois in Respite Care for handicapped children.

Surviving are two daughters, Brenda Langan and her husband David of Liberty and Teresa Ley of Medford OR.; a son, Stephen Collins of San Jose, CA.; seven grandchildren, Candice Scalise of NC., Amanda Bluemke, Melissa Henry and Nicholas Altgilbers, all of FL., Preston Ley and Jennifer Ley of OR. and Victoria Nicholson of TX.; six great grandchildren; four brothers, Rev. Robert D. Cook and his wife Pat of Plainville, Clarence William "Bill" Cook and his wife Margaret of Ursa, Warren Cook and his wife Norma and Marvin Cook and his wife Dee, both of Mendon; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Penny Williams and Torie Jones; three sons, Justin Collins, Kevin Collins and Gregory Wolley; one brother, Russell Cook; and four sisters, Roxie Cook, Doris Nance, Irene Maglioacchette and Irma Albrecht.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10:00 at Grandview Baptist Church by Rev. Dennis Thomas. Burial will be in the West Point Cemetery.

Visitation will be held will be held Tuesday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home and Wednesday morning from 9:00 until the time of services at the church.
