FERN MILDRED MANLOVE


    Fern Mildred Manlove, 81, of 1218 A North 3rd Street, died at 5:50 p.m. Saturday (November 27, 2004) in Blessing Hospital.
   

   Born June 14, 1923 in Quincy, Fern was the daughter of John and Mildred Eberhardt Sparrow and her adoptive parents, Roan and Gertrude Frye-Westlake. She married Wayne Manlove on December 24, 1941 in Lancaster, Missouri. He died March 14, 1993.


    Fern and her husband farmed for many years near Lima. She also worked at Motorola, North Adams Home and Quinsippi Nursing Home until her retirement. She enjoyed reading, word search puzzles and spending time with her friends and neighbors, and the family dog. Fern will be greatly missed by everyone whose lives she touched, especially her children.

   Fern was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She is survived by four daughters, Rosetta Gunyan and her husband Ronald of Rock Springs, WY., Darlene Overman and her husband Myron of Butte, MT., Melody Melchior and her husband David of Denver, CO. and Shirley Cain of Quincy; a daughter in law, Norma Manlove of Valrico, FL.; 18 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; 10 step great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; 7 step great great grandchildren; two sisters in law; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

   Mrs. Manlove was preceded in death by her parents; her adoptive parents; a son, Gerald Manlove; two daughters, Jean Goodrich and a daughter in infancy, June Manlove; four sisters, Fae Alcoa, Geneva Bowman, Mary Rudsell and Elizabeth "Bette" Brinkman; her adoptive sister, Margie Opper-Jones; five grandchildren, Preston Manlove, Gail Taylor, Sara Melchior, Wayne Gunyan and Gerald Gunyan; two great grandchildren, Crystal Jennings and Jeremy Baber; and two step great grandchildren, Curtis Elam and Troy Prince.

   Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10:00 at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home. by the Rev. V. Lee Amsler. Burial will be in Round Prairie Cemetery near Plymouth.

   Visitation will be Thursday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 and Friday morning until the time of services at the funeral home.

   Memorials may be made to the Cardiovascular Unit at Blessing Hospital or the Blessing Foundation for Hospice.
