FLOYD VICKREY


Mr. Floyd "Vic" Vickrey, 85, of 109 S. First St., Princeton, died Thursday (November 11, 2004) at the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy.

Born January 29, 1919, in Dover, IL., Vic was the son of Elmer and Vera Keith Vickrey. He married Ileen Griffin. She died October 13, 2003.

Mr. Vickrey was retired from the Princeton Fire Department, where he was employed as a driver and engineer. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War.

Surviving is a daughter, Joy Fox and her husband Tim of Springfield, IL.; a son, Wynn Vickrey and his wife Arlette of Moline, IL.; three grandchildren, Ian Vickrey, serving with the U.S. Navy in Korea, Scott Vickrey of Moline, and Angela Fox of Springfield; and two great granddaughters, Lexi and Teegan Vickrey.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and one brother.

Cremation rites were accorded to Mr. Vickrey. There are no services planned at this time.
