FRANCES SHELTON

Mrs. Frances Shelton, 95, of Quincy, died at 9:10 a.m. Wednesday (July 4, 2007) in Blessing Hospital.

Born November 9, 1911 in Palmyra, Missouri, Frances was the daughter of Joe and Claire Keller. She married Oral E. Shelton on December 15, 1934 in Monroe City, Missouri. He died December 23, 1968.

Mrs. Shelton was a graduate of Palmyra High School and Gem City Business College. She was a terrific gardener and enjoyed cooking and sewing. She was a devoted mother who cherished the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

Frances was employed at Uptown Cleaners for several years until her retirement.

Surviving is a daughter, Betty McDowell of Starke, FL. two sons, James Shelton and his wife Juanita of Quincy and Tom Shelton and his wife Candace of St. Louis, MO.; six grandchildren, James Shelton Jr. and his wife Carolina of Greenville, TN., Tamara Kinard and her husband Charles of Quincy, Lisa Shelton of Greenville, TN., Debbie Halle and her husband Carl of Starke, FL., Sherry Williams and her husband Mark of Lawtey, FL., and Kevin Shelton of St. Louis, MO.; 14 great grandchildren; 14 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Jerry Shelton; three grandchildren, Randall Shelton, Jeff Shelton, and Pattie Ann Smith; a great grandchild, Jared Shelton; a sister, May Rathburn; a brother, Robert Keller; and several half brothers and half sisters.

Graveside services will be held Saturday morning at 11:00 in Greenmount Cemetery by Rev. V. Lee Amsler.

Visitation will be held Saturday morning from 10:00 until 10:45 at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.
