
FREDA M. McELROY
Mrs. Freda M. McElroy, 73, of Sunset Home, formerly of 1401 North 8th, died at 12:16 a.m. Thursday (January 18, 2007) in Blessing Hospital.
Born April 12, 1933 in Kirksville, Missouri, Freda was the daughter of Thomas L. and Mary Ivy Attey Keyte. She married John Baze Jr. in Quincy. He preceded her in death. She married Victor McElroy in Quincy. He preceded her in death.
Freda was an active lifetime member of the Salvation Army. She enjoyed Bingo, bowling, and trivia games. She especially cherished the time she spent with her family.
A graduate of Quincy High School, Freda was employed in the housekeeping department at the Illinois Veterans Home for 8 years. She retired due to ill health.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas McElroy and his wife Melody of Quincy and Mark McElroy of Illinois; a daughter, Joy Brassfield of Quincy; five grandchildren, Chris McElroy and his wife Jenny of Moore, OK., David McElroy and his wife Angie of Orlando, FL., Tiffany McElroy of Norman, OK., Misty McElroy of Norman, OK. and Heather Brassfield of Quincy; six great grandchildren, Jake, Trevor, Madison and Macy McElroy all of Moore, OK., Devyn McElroy of Orlando, FL. and Alyssa McElroy of Norman, OK.; a sister, Donna D. Werner of Quincy; a sister in law, Bernice Keyte of Omaha, NE.; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. McElroy was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; three brothers, Jack Keyte, George Keyte and an infant brother, Carroll Keyte.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 11:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Paul Luhn. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 and Tuesday until the time of services at the funeral home.
