GENE H. JOHNSON
Gene H. Johnson, 81 of 1813 Jacqueline Dr. died at 4:55 am Saturday (January 9, 2010) in Blessing Hospital.
Born October 29, 1928 in Farber, Missouri. Gene was the son of Lloyd William and Iola Pearl Johnson. He was first married to Catherine Brandon on June 28, 1952. She preceded him in death in 1980. He then married Verda Bliven Masters on October 13, 2002 in Quincy. She survives.
Gene graduated from Farber, MO high school and was a member of the Farber Presbyterian Church where he had served as a decon. He enjoyed watching TV and was an avid St. Louis Cardinal Baseball Fan. He served his country in the Navy during World War II and was a member of the Quincy American Legion Post #37.
Gene had been employed at Dresser Industries in Mexico, MO for many years until his retirement on March 1, 1987.
Survivors include his wife, Verda, one son Jeffrey Johnson of Kansas City, KS and one daughter Tracie Randolph and her husband Bill of Moberly, MO; also surviving three step sons, Jim Masters, Jeffrey Masters and his wife LeAnn all of Quincy, Calvin Masters and his wife Kathy of Ottumwa, IA, and one step daughter Cheryl Noble of Quincy; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; one brother Bobby Johnson and his wife Loraine of Sparks, NV and one sister Janice Walton of Vandalia, MO.
Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Catherine and one brother Lloyd William Jr.
Cremation rites have been accorded. No services are planned at this time.
