GERALD V. "JERRY" RAMPLEY

Gerald V. "Jerry" Rampley, 92, of the Illinois Veterans home, formerly of 713 Washington, died at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday (March 25, 2007) at the home.

Born November 15, 1915 in Princeton, MO, Jerry was the son of Charles Wesley and Luella Dickerson Rampley. He was first married to Forrest McPherson. He later married Dorothy Miller Bruenger October 15, 1965 in Quincy. She preceded him in death on July 26, 2007.

Jerry was a member of the Eagles Club, an avid St. Louis Cardinal Baseball fan and enjoyed playing bingo.

He was a self employed carpenter for many years in the Quincy area until his retirement.

Survivors include a step son A. Michael Bruenger of Quincy; a step daughter Linda Walz and her husband Mark of Lenexa, KS; four grandchildren; David M. Walz of Lenexa, KS; Alan Ippensen of Quincy; Dennis Ippensen and his wife Katie of Liberty; Sherri Fuller and her husband Terry of Ursa; several great grandchildren; two brothers Wesley Eugene Rampley and his wife Cleo of Quincy and Charles Wesley Rampley and his wife Marilyn Joan of Kahoka, MO; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Rampley was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a son Jack Rampley, a daughter Geraldine "Gerri" Ippensen, an Infant daughter Pamela Sue Rampley, a brother Robert Rampley and five sisters Mildred Rampley, Opal Hardy, Nellie Swick, Dorothy Sayer and Darlene Stansberry.

Graveside services will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 in Greenmount Cemetery by the Rev. George Tomko.

Visitation will be held Saturday afternoon from 12:00 until 1:15 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.
