
GLADYS A. JACOBSON
Mrs. Gladys A. Jacobson, 94, of the Good Samaritan Home, formerly of 1811 South 24th, died at 2:55 p.m. Friday (January 6, 2006) in Good Samaritan Home.
Born December 5, 1911 in Arenzville, Illinois, Gladys was the daughter of Henry and Minnie Kruse Albers. She married Donald D. Jacobson on May 18, 1935 in Quincy. He died November 28, 1989.
Gladys was of the Lutheran Faith. She was a member of the Good Samaritan Home Auxiliary and volunteered with the American Cancer Society and worked with handicapped children in Waukegan, Illinois.
Gladys was employed at Gardner-Denver and then at Abbott Laboratories in North Chicago until her retirement in the late 1950's.
Survivors include nieces and nephews, Georgeann Bickhaus, Janice Simpson, Jim Bickhaus, Pam Chilton, Tom Bickhaus, Janet Donnelly, Nancy Norris and John Bickhaus.
Mrs. Jacobson was preceded in death by her parents; her step mother, Lena Albers; a sister, Esther Helwig; three brothers, Lloyd Albers, Herbert Albers and Delbert Albers; a step brother, Werner H. Kruse; and several nieces and nephews.
Cremation rites have been accorded to Mrs. Jacobson. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
The Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Shriner's Children's Hospital, Good Samaritan Home or the Quincy High Twelve Club Hospital Bed Fund.
