
GLENNIS M. LIERLY
Mrs. Glennis M. Lierly, 86, of Timberpoint Health Care Center, formerly of Kellerville, died at 10:10 p.m. Tuesday (January 2, 2007) in the Timberpoint Health Care Center.
Born September 3, 1920 in Larned, KS., Glennis was the daughter of Delbert and Anna Brandt Deege. She married Donald Elmo Lierly on June 17, 1971 in Clayton, IL. Elmo died February 12, 2001.
Glennis attended L'Dora Elementary School and graduated from high school in Larned, KS. She then attended business college in Wichita, KS. She was employed as an executive secretary for Aircraft Steel and Supply Company for many years. Glennis enjoyed sharing her life with Elmo on their farm near Kellerville. Together they raised and showed award winning Arabian horses. Glennis and Elmo also loved to travel the United States visiting family and friends. She attended the Clayton Christian Church and was a member of the Tiny United Methodist Church and a charter member of the Tiny Toiler 4-H Club in Larned, KS. Glennis was a beautiful woman who had a gentle spirit and a kind heart. She was loved and will be greatly missed.
Surviving are two daughters, Vicke Lierly of Quincy and Paula McKissick and her husband Steve of Idaho; two sons, Jack Nafus and his wife Betty of Texas, and Neil Lierly of Arizona; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Nafus of Texas; seven grandchildren, Sarah Lierly of Quincy, Nick McKissick of California, Ricky, Todd, Zachary, Suzy and David Nafus, all of Texas; and a brother, Donald Deege and his wife Phyllis of Kansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, David Nafus; her step mother, Leta Deege; and two sisters, Ada Lee Stedman and Eloise Beasley.
Cremation rites were accorded to Mrs. Lierly. Private family inurnment will be held in Sunset Cemetery.
