GWENDOLA BOYD

Mrs. Gwendola (Dole') Boyd, 78, of 1600 Wilmar Orchard, formerly of 1014 North 6th, died at 8:25 a.m. Monday (October 17, 2005) in the emergency room of Blessing Hospital.

Born April 8, 1927 in Quincy, Dole' was the daughter of Nolen E. and Stella E. Lovelace Hoskins. She married Glen Boyd on December 20, 1945 in Quincy. He survives.

Dole' was devoted to her family and cherished the time she spent with them. She also loved animals, especially her pet dogs and cats and was a supporter of the Quincy Humane Society and Paw Pals.

Survivors include her husband, Glen; two sons, Gary Boyd and his wife Claire and Jan Boyd both of Quincy; two daughters, Linda Pittman and her special friend, Jeff Mock and Dawn Kroner and her husband Roger both of Quincy; six grandchildren, Jamie Higdon of Palmyra, MO., Christy Boyd and his wife Christine, Lindsey Lentz and her husband Mike and Sarah Boyd all of Quincy, Nicole Pittman and her special friend, Jay Wright of Lake St. Louis, MO. and Jon Pittman and his wife Jessica of Washington, IL.; two great grandchildren, Garrett Higdon of Palmyra, MO. and Isaiah Boyd of Quincy; a sister, Cleatis Langan of Clayton, IL.; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Boyd was preceded in death by her parents and her grandparents.

Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Pastor Jon Pittman. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 and Thursday morning until the time of services at the funeral home.
