Mrs. Helena B. Jennings, 86, of 912 N. 5th, died 12:20 a.m. Tuesday (September 13, 2005) in her home.

Born August 6, 1919 in Sullivan, Missouri, Helena was the daughter of George Edward and Anna Campbell Deeds. She was married to Elmer Jennings who preceded her in death on October 16, 1956.

Helena attended Living Water Fellowship. She was employed as a Supervisor at Motorola until their closing and then as a waitress for many years. She then was the secretary for the Regional Supervisor for the Green Thumb Organization for 10 years, retiring in 2003.

Survivors include her son, Jack Jennings and his wife Norma of Des Moines, IA.; a grandson Steven Jennings and his wife Cindy of Urbandale, IA.; two great grandchildren, Jacqui Lockhart and her husband Pat of Fontana, CA. and Luke Jennings of Irvine, CA.; three step great grandchildren, Matt Nielsen and his wife Erin, Stephanie Nielsen and Tiffany Nielsen all of Des Moines, IA.; three great great grandchildren, Kendall Lockhart, Makayla Lockhart and Bailey Lockhart; a step great great grandchild, Hunter Nielsen; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Jennings was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Charles Deeds; and a sister, Bernice Long.

Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 11:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Pastor Tom Waters. Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park.

Visitation will be Monday morning from 10:00 until the time of services at the funeral home.
