HARRY EDWARD McAFEE
Harry Edward McAfee, 65, of 2040 Jackson, died at 8:15 a.m. Sunday (February 24, 2008) in his home.
Born November 14, 1942 in Antioch, MO, Harry was the son of Elmer "Doc" and Lavon Ridgley McAfee. He married Judy Boudreau on August 21, 1965 in Quincy. She survives.
Harry was a member of Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ. He was also a member of the Quincy American Legion Post #37 and a former member of the Moose Lodge in Kahoka, MO. He enjoyed playing cards, gardening, mushroom hunting, boating, bowling, fishing and hunting. Harry served his country in the U.S. Navy.
He began his career in 1964 at the Electric Wheel Division of Firestone where he worked for 18 years until its closing. He then joined Can-Am industries which later became Titan Wheel. He retired in 1997 as supervisor from the Earthmover Department.
Survivors also include a daughter Jana D. Sheely of Quincy; two grandsons, Austin and Zac Sheely both of Quincy; a brother Verlin McAfee of Kahoka, MO; a mother in law Wilma Boudreau of Kahoka, MO; special cousins, Harvey and Roberta Drebes of Quincy; three brother in laws, Larry Boudreau, Lloyd Boudreau and his wife Linda and Marvin Boudreau and his wife Doris all of Canton, MO. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews and aunts and uncles.
Mr. McAfee was preceded in death by his parents, a son Michael McAfee, a brother Paul Raymond McAfee, a sister Virginia Katsaros and a special aunt Myrtle Horch.
Cremation rites have been accorded to Mr. McAfee. Memorial services will be held Saturday morning at 10:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Wanda Seydel and Rev. Shawn McAfee. Inurnment will be at Greenmount Cemetery at a later date
Visitation will be Saturday morning from 9:30 until the time of the service.
