
HARVEY D. MAYFIELD
Mr. Harvey D. Mayfield, 72, of 1307 Horne St., Quincy, died at 1:34 p.m. Sunday (July 22, 2007) in his home.
Born May 31, 1935 in Ursa, Harvey was the son of Lester and Alice Nichols Mayfield. He married Caroline J. Miller on November 10, 1955 in Quincy. She survives.
Harvey enjoyed gardening and fishing and was an avid hunter who especially enjoyed coon hunting. Mr. Mayfield served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a lifetime member of Bear Creek American Legion Post 823, Florida American Legion, Quincy V.F.W. Post 5129 and the AmVets Post 76 of Ursa.
Mr. Mayfield was a construction worker and truck driver until his retirement.
Survivors include his wife, Caroline; two sons, David Mayfield and his wife Sherri and Dick Kerker and his wife Kathy both of Quincy; two daughters, Pat McGlaughlin of Hannibal, MO. and Suzanne Birk of Germany; ten grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; seven brother, Bob Mayfield and his wife Donna, Gene, Ronnie, Danny, Quentin, Gary and LaVerne Mayfield and his wife Nancy; a sister Rhonda Gooding; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Mr. Mayfield was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; and two brothers.
Graveside services with Military Honors by Bear Creek American Legion Post 823 will be held Wednesday morning at 10:00 in Sunset Cemetery by the Rev. V. Lee Amsler.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home
