
HAZEL J. ASHMORE
Mrs. Hazel J. Ashmore, 87, of North Adams Home, died at 3:48 p.m. Friday (August 12, 2005) in the home.
Born June 7, 1918 in Clayton, IL., Hazel was the daughter of Sherman and Lottie McClintock Lamma. She married Marvin Ashmore in December of 1951 in Palmyra, MO. He preceded her in death.
Hazel enjoyed fishing and dancing and was a member of the North Side Boat Club Auxiliary. She was employed as a CNA at Blessing Hospital and at Good Samaritan Home for several years until her retirement.
Surviving are three daughters, Rose Mary Law and her husband Dale, Pat Novak and Evelyn Hollander, all of Quincy; two sons, DeWayne Flesner and his wife Peggy of Fowler and Mick Ashmore of Griffin, GA.; ten grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; one great great grandson; and one sister, Opal Meyer of Quincy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one great granddaughter, Becky Fielding; and two brothers, Robert and David Lamma.
Cremation rites were accorded to Mrs. Ashmore. Graveside memorial services will be held Tuesday morning at 10:30 at the South Side Cemetery in Clayton by Rev. Kevin McGinnis.
Visitation will be held Monday morning from 10:00 until 11:00 at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Quincy.
