
HAZEL MARIE COLE
Mrs. Hazel Marie Cole, 76, of Golden Good Shepherd Home, formerly of Bowen, died at 6:55 a.m. Wednesday (April 19, 2006) in the home.
Born May 21, 1929 in Winchester, Illinois, Hazel was the daughter of Michael J. and Hazel Mae Fowler Ryan. She married William "Bill" Cole Jr. on May 10, 1947 in Quincy. He died June 6, 1998.
Hazel attended Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Golden. She enjoyed cooking and was devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother who cherished the time she spent with her family.
Mrs. Cole was employed as a home health aid for ten years and later worked at Sunset Home as a CNA for five years.
Surviving is a daughter, Sharon Eliason and her husband Craig of Lewes, DE.; six sons, William "Bill" A. Cole III and his wife Vicki of Philadelphia, MO., Robert P. Cole of Burlington, IA., Mark K. Cole and his wife Peggy of Lomax, IL., Michael K. Cole and his wife Janet of Camp Point, IL. Russell L. "Rusty" Cole and his wife Carla of Augusta and Gary R. Longcor and his wife Deborah of Charleston, IL.; seventeen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; and three sisters, Frances Lindsay and her husband Lyndall and Martha Wassell, all of Pittsfield and Roberta Gregory of Winchester.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Marsha Cole; a granddaughter, Melinda Taylor; four brothers, Lloyd, William, and James Ryan and Paul Woodall; and three sisters, Betty Dugan, Margaret Sanderson and Mary Louise Longcor.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:00 at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Rev. Mark Eddy and Rev. Stephen Southward. Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held Friday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 and Saturday morning until the time of services at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Golden Good Shepherd Home or the great grandchildren's education fund.
