HAZEL M. GRAHAM

Mrs. Hazel M. Graham, 90, of 609 Jackson, Quincy, died at 2:40 p.m. Thursday (October 8, 2009) in her home.

Born August 13, 1919 in Ursa, Illinois, Hazel was the daughter of Charles A. and Minnie A. Lubbert Schnelle. She married Jess Hamilton in 1938. He preceded her in death. She married Earl Witte in 1948 in Quincy. He preceded her in death.

Hazel was a Jehovah Witness. She enjoyed quilting, knitting, embroidery and loved to make cakes, especially known in the area for her wedding cakes.

Hazel was employed at Miller's Manufacturing and then at Motorola for 22 years until their closing. She later worked at Helping Hand Homecare until her retirement.

Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Weirschem and her husband Terry of Plymouth, CA. and Christina Stambaugh of Quincy; a son, Michael Witte of Quincy; six grandchildren, Lee Weirschem, Linda Iman, George Weirschem, Susan Witte, Shawn Witte and Robert Witte; sixteen great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; two sisters, Darlene M. Schnelle and Margaret L. Crawford both of Ursa, IL; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Graham was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; a daughter, Roselee Hamilton; and five brothers, Charles Schnelle, Kenneth Schnelle, Alvin Schnelle, Carl Schnelle and Ray Schnelle in infancy.

Cremation rites have been accorded to Mrs. Graham. Family services will be held at a later date at Quincy Memorial Park.
