HAZEL J. PATTERSON*

Mrs. Hazel J. Patterson, 78, of 101 N. 4th St., died at 12:39 p.m. Thursday (December 7, 2006) at Good Samaritan Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.

Born April 1, 1928 in Hull, Illinois, Hazel was the daughter of Samuel and Elizabeth King McDowell. She married David Patterson on January 19, 1952 in Hull, Illinois. He died April 2002.

Mrs. Patterson graduated from Barry High School in 1946 and attended Gem City Business College. She was employed as a bank teller at Mercantile Trust and Savings Bank for 33 1/2 years until her retirement in December or 1995.

Surviving is a daughter, Deborah "Debbie" Patterson-Syzek and her husband Timothy of Baltimore, MD.; a brother, Melvin I. "Mac" McDowell and his wife Pat of Quincy; three nephews, Melvin R. McDowell and his wife Barbara of Quincy, Gary Robbins and his wife Carol and Kenneth Robbins and his wife Barbara, both of Barry; a niece, Janice Ballard of Colona, IL.; several great nieces and nephews, Megan McDowell of Quincy, Dale Robbins and his wife Terri of Baylis, Teresa Cole and her husband Tim of Eureka, IL., Kim Robbins, Brian Robbins and Erin Little and her husband Jake, all of Barry, Kathy Boggs and her husband Don of Colona, IL., Sabrina Ballard and her fiance' Darin Higgins of Davenport, IA., and Randy Ballard and his wife Jennifer of Silvis, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Leona Robbins.

Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10:00 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Monsignor Michael Kuse. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery in Barry, IL.

Visitation will be held Friday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 at the funeral home.
