HELEN S. ELLERBRAKE

     Mrs. Helen S. Ellerbrake, 91, of the Good Samaritan Home, formerly of
#6 Spring Lake Country Club, died at 4:40 a.m. Saturday (April 1, 2006) in
Good Samaritan Home.

     Born October 25, 1914 in Quincy, Helen was the daughter of John and
Eleanor Kroner Altrogge.

     After completing her education, Helen was employed at Halbach-Schrader

department store as a sales person and fashion model.  

    

     She married Marvin W. Ellerbrake on December 28,
1937 in Quincy. He preceded her in death on December 14, 1995.

      Helen attended Saint Mary’s Catholic Church and was a long time 

member of Spring Lake Country Club. She was an avid golfer,

bowler, loved to dance and work in her garden.

     Helen was a devoted wife and mother and helped her husband at
Ellerbrake's Super Market at 6th and Washington for many years.

     Survivors include her son, James K. Ellerbrake and his wife Gail of San
Francisco and Carmel, CA.; a brother, Virgil Altrogge of Quincy; two sister-in-
laws, Valera Eland, Betty Altrogge and a brother-in-law Elmo Arns, all of Quincy

and several nephews and nieces.

     Mrs. Ellerbrake was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, two
sisters, Virginia Arns and Mildred Beckman; and two brothers, Raymond
Altrogge and Elmer Altrogge.

     Cremation rites have been accorded to Mrs. Ellerbrake. Private family
services will be held at a later date.

     Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home is in charge of the
arrangements.
