HELEN MILLER

Mrs. Helen L. R. Miller, 89, of the North Adams Home, formerly of 1136 Monroe, died at 1:00 a.m. Monday (December 24, 2007) in Blessing Hospital.

Born October 1, 1918 in Ursa, Illinois, Helen was the daughter of Henry R. and Lessie Fisher Perry. She married J. C. Miller on August 9, 1938 in Palmyra, Missouri. He preceded her in death on January 8, 1988.

Helen was a former member of the Lima Christian Church. She was a member of the Machinist Local 822 and enjoyed gardening and sewing. She was a loving and caring person who was devoted to her family.

Helen was employed at Davis-Cleaver for over 23 years, retiring in 1987.

Survivors include three sons, William Miller and his wife Shirley of Loraine, IL., Gerald Miller and his wife Judith of Ursa, IL. and Gary Miller and his wife Charlotte of Quincy; a daughter, Leona Booher and her husband Jim of Palmyra, MO.; eight grandchildren, Jeff Miller and his wife Brenda of Ursa, IL., Jill Miller of Pittsfield, IL., Joe Miller and his wife Carrie of Ursa, IL., Gary L. Miller of St. Louis, MO., Greg Miller and his wife Cherlyn of Ozark, MO., Jay Miller and his wife Cheri of Louisville, KY., Lynn Frances and her husband Mike of Knoxville, TN. and Travis Miller of Quincy; two step grandchildren, Heath Roberts of Troy, MO. and Clifford Roberts and his wife Vicky of Paris, MO.; 15 great grandchildren; a brother, Milo Perry and his wife Edna of Palmyra, MO.; a sister, Laurel Bush of New London, MO.; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a great grandson, Luke Miller; two brothers, A.C. Perry and William Perry; and three sisters, Mildred McElwee, Marie Wood and Thelma Johnson Bush.

Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Pastor Tom Day. Burial will be in New Providence Cemetery near Ursa.

Visitation will be Thursday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 and Friday morning until the time of services at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Blessing Dialysis Unit or the Alzheimer's Foundation.
