Mrs. Hilda H. Hancock, 100, of the Timber Point Health Care Center in Camp Point, formerly of Quincy, died at 12:30 p.m. Monday (December 6, 2004) at the home.
Born May 15, 1904 in Quincy, Hilda was the daughter of Henry and Minnie Kerksieck Steffen. She married Frank V. Hancock on May 8, 1924 in Quincy. He died September 28, 1988.
Mrs. Hancock was of the Lutheran Faith. She was a very active person who enjoyed many outdoor activities including; playing golf, swimming and participating in marching bands.
Surviving is a niece, Betty McClintock of Camp Point, and her children Robert & Barbara; two nephews, Frank Steffen and his wife Charlotte of Liberty, and their children, Ginger, Roy and Ronnie; and Richard Steffen and his wife Darlene of Plainville, and their children, Kenny, Roger and Duane; a great niece, Linda Rosso of California; and several other cousins and friends.
Mrs. Hancock was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers
and five sisters.
Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Martin and Phyllis Metzger. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday morning from 9:30 until the time of services at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Timber Point Health Care Center, Columbus Christian Church, or Blessing Hospice.
