GENE LEMMON

Mr. Hollis Eugene "Gene" Lemmon, 87, of St. Vincent's Home, died at 5:55 a.m. Tuesday (March 11, 2008) in the home.

Born August 26, 1920 in Williamstown, Missouri, Gene was the son of Hollis E. "Bud" and Grace Brown Lemmon.

A 1938 graduate of Williamstown High School, Gene was employed for Caterpillar Inc. in Peoria before moving to Hawthorne, California where he worked as an Aero Physicist for McDonnell Douglas for many years until his retirement. He moved back to Quincy in 2001.

Gene was a member of the Williamstown Christian Church. He enjoyed reading and amatuer photography and loved to travel the world.

Survivors include his sister, Frances Allen of Quincy; two nieces, Linda Beers and her husband Kent of Quincy and Cindy Winegar of Kingsport, TN.; a nephew, Steve Lemmon and his wife Patty of St. Louis, MO.; a great niece, Diane Beers of Quincy; and a sister in law, Jenilee Lemmon of St. Louis, MO.

Mr. Lemmon was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Harry Lemmon; and a sister in infancy.

Cremation rites have been accorded to Mr. Lemmon. At his request, no services are planned.
