
GRACE IMOGENE KINDHART
With her family present, the angels came to lead home Mrs. Grace Imogene Kindhart, 86, of the St. Vincent's Home, formerly of 420 Kentucky, at 3:15 p.m. Saturday (May 14, 2005)
Born March 8, 1919 in Hancock County, Illinois, Imogene was the daughter of Grant and Edna Owens Lamma. She married Troy Kindhart Sr. on October 14, 1936 in Clayton, Illinois and they celebrated 50 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on October 17, 1986.
Imogene devoted her life to raising her family and helping her husband with his auctioneering business. She will be fondly remembered for her cooking, especially her homemade bread and pies.
Survivors include ten children; Barbara Carnes and her husband Bob of Libertry, Edna Pearl Kelley, Shirley Lepper, Troy E. Kindhart Jr and his wife Jean, Norma Reid, Sharon Cain and her husband Robert, John Kindhart, Rhonda Murry and her husband Rocky , Betty Lou Mumpower and Ida Mae Daggett all of Quincy; a daughter in law, Brenda Kindhart of Quincy; 41 grandchildren; 62 great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren; a brother, Grant Lamma Jr. and his wife Nellie of Keokuk, IA.; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Kindhart was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Donald Kindhart and Richard Kindhart; six grandchildren, Christine Kindhart, Bobby Kelley, David Kindhart, Dennis Large, Dewayne Large and Devin Murry; four brothers, Clarence "Buzz" Lamma, Charles "Tom" Lamma, John "Sam" Lamma and Glen Lamma; and three sisters, Pansie May Bowen, Elizabeth Davis DeShong and Fredda Marie Owens Vance.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1:00in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 and Wednesday until the time of services at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Blessing Foundation for Hospice or the St. Vincent's Home.
