INEZ EGAN HOMAN
Mrs. Inez Egan Homan, 92, of the Good Samaritan Home, died at 6:26 a.m. Sunday (February 3, 2008) in Good Samaritan Home.
Born March 14, 1915 in Paloma, Illinois, Inez was the daughter of Edward and Carrie Lanning Egan. She married Orville Homan in June 1931. He preceded her in death on November 8, 1980.
Inez enjoyed sewing and loved to travel, taking many bus trips with her friends.
Inez was employed at J.C. Penney for many years and then at Strickler Foods in Mendon until her retirement.
Survivors include two daughters, Dorothy Lair and her husband C.W. and Pat Aschemann both of Quincy; a daughter in law, Lee Homan of Ursa; thirteen grandchildren, Craig Homan and his companion Bobette Leonard, Danny Homan, Mark Aschemann and his companion, JoEllen Davis, Doug Aschemann, Lori Mitchell and her husband John, Amy Kipping and her husband Kurt, Jerry Weisenberger and his wife Candy, Kelly Sorrill and her husband David, Robyn Akers and her husband, Grayling and Renee Porter and her husband Doug all of Quincy; Lachelle Homan of Merrilville, IN., Ronna Alaniz and her husband Randy of Ballwin, MO., and Rachelle Hayward and her husband Brad of San Diego, CA.; many loving great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; a sister in law, Bonnie Egan of Mendon; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Homan was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Charles Homan and Ronald Homan; a son in law, Orville Aschemann; four brothers, Samuel Egan, Guilford Egan, Clyde Egan and James Egan, who was killed in WW II; and two sisters, Anna Homan and Bertha Humke.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Mendon Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday afternoon from 12:30 until the time of services at the funeral home.
