IRENE R. CHAPMAN
Mrs. Irene Ruby Chapman, 87, of the Harvest Hills Apartments, died at 4:05 p.m. Saturday (January 15, 2005) at Blessing Hospital.
Born July 16, 1917 in Ewing, Missouri, Mrs. Chapman was the daughter of Rueben Vincent and Zona Marie Walker Boudreau. She married Carrol K. Chapman on March 28, 1940 in Troy, Missouri. He died January 23, 1973.
A 1935 graduate of Quincy High School, Mrs. Chapman was employed as an inspector at the H & R Hosiery Mills until her marriage, when she devoted her life to her husband and raising her family. In 1976, she moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she lived until returning to Quincy in 1995.
Survivors include three daughters, Carol K. Brandt of Palm Coast, FL., Linda S. Brodkey of San Diego, CA. and Mary L. Archer and her husband C. E. of Quincy; six grandchildren, Kathy Jo Gemmill and her husband Judson of Petersburg, PA., Kamden Brandt and his wife Rose of Lancaster, PA., Amy King and her husband Les of Reno, NV., Melanie Gaidos and her husband Jim of Lancaster, PA., Jessie Brodkey of San Francisco, CA. and Amanda Veihl and her husband Steve of Quincy; six great grandchildren; a sister, Fern Schafer of Quincy; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Chapman was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a brother, Miles "Mike" Boudreau.
Cremation rites were accorded to Mrs. Chapman. There will be no services.
Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
