IRENE A. EHRHARDT
Irene A. Ehrhardt, 104, of Sunset Home, formerly of 1027 N. 13th, died at 11:05 a.m. Sunday (February 10, 2008) in Sunset Home.
Born November 29, 1903 in Burton Township, Irene was the daughter of Sylvester and Dora Schmidt Haire. She married Philip H. Ehrhardt on January 17, 1928 in Quincy. He died January 13, 1998.
Mrs. Ehrhardt was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church. She enjoyed sewing, needle work, quilting and making afghans. Irene was a wonderful mother and homemaker for her family.
Survivors include a daughter Phyllis Orr of Quincy; a daughter in law Doris Buss of Quincy; six grandchildren Cynthia Ehrhardt, Michael Ehrhardt, Christina Ruff and her husband Robert all of Quincy, Carrie Ehrhardt of Port Townsend, WA, Mark Ehrhardt and his wife Denise of Barry and Robert Alan Orr and his wife Lori of Quincy; nine great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; dear friends Betty & Jerry Grant; three sister in laws, Justina Peter, Florence Ehrhardt and Ruth Haire all of Quincy; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Ehrhardt was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son Patrick Ehrhardt, a son in law Robert E. Orr, five brothers Merle, Delbert, Robert, Arnold and William Haire, and a sister Emma Haire.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 11:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Tom Shaughnessy. Burial will in Woodland Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Wednesday morning from 9:30 until the time of services at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Sunset Home Activity Fund, St. Francis Solanus School or to the Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration.
The family would like to thank the staff of Sunset Home. Throughout her stay at the home the caregivers were especially compassionate towards Irene. For that her family will be eternally grateful.
