JOSEPH H. "JOE" BAKER

Mr. Joseph H. "Joe" Baker, 83 of 2925 Helens Ct, Quincy died at 3:20 am Monday (January 4, 2010) in his home.

Born October 27, 1926 in Quincy Joe was the son of Bernard J. and Marie Henderson Baker. He married Anna Maurine Shinnebarger on June 30, 1951 in Quincy. She preceded him in death on February 16, 2009.

Joe was a member of St. Francis Church. An avid Cubs fan, he enjoyed watching baseball, fishing, hunting, camping, gardening and bird watching.

Joe was employed as an over the road truck driver for Dorhn and Blickhan Trucking Companies for several years until his retirement.

Survivors include a daughter, Dena Hughs and her husband Kevin of Quincy; a son, Bernard Baker and his wife Bonnie of Quincy; a grandson, Bernard Baker Jr and his wife Betsy of Indianapolis, IN; a great granddaughter, Kathryn "Kitty" Baker of Indianapolis, IN; four step grandchildren, Carl Hughs and his wife Dianna of Clarksville, TN, Dan Galbraith and his wife Jenny and Tammy Galbraith both of Quincy and Vicki Galbraith of Canton, MO; a step great grandson, Tyler Hughs of Clarksville, TN; a sister, Maxine Gengenbacher and her husband Charles of Quincy; a nephew, Michael Gengenbacher and his wife Paulette of Gilbert, AZ; a great niece, Michelle Fisher and her husband Scott of Maricopa, AZ; a great great niece, Gabriella Fisher of Maricopa, AZ; and a cousin, Betty Ellison of Quincy.

Mr. Baker was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife.

Cremation rites have been accorded to Mr. Baker. Graveside Memorial Services will be held Wednesday morning at 10:30 at the Calvary Cemetery Chapel by the Rev. James Wheeler.

There is no visitation but friends are invited to the services. The Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in in charge of arrangements.
