JAMES PERRY HOGGE

Mr. James Hogge, 78, of Maywood, Missouri, died at 7:55 a.m. Thursday (January 6, 2005) at Blessing Hospital.

Born May 25, 1926 in Taylorville, Illinois, James was the son of James Perry and Lela Oller Hogge Sr. He married Emma Ruth Frankel on September 5, 1945 in Palmyra, Missouri. She survives.

Mr. Hogge attended Quincy High School and was a member of V.F.W. Post #5129, the International Molder's Union #44, the Machinists Union and was a former member of the advisory board at the Illinois Veterans Home. Mr. Hogge served his country in the U.S. Navy with the Seabees Pontoon Detachment during WWII in the South Pacific.

James was employed as a machinist at Gardner-Denver for over 25 years and later worked at the Palmyra Middle School retiring in 1990.

Also surviving is a daughter, Nadine McKinney and her husband Bill of Paris, MO.; a son, James Hogge and his wife Pamela of Chatham, IL.; six grandchildren, Randy McKinney of Cincinnati, OH., Brent McKinney of Gridley, IL., Jimmy Hogge and Jamie Davis and her husband Roger, both of Springfield, IL., and Elizabeth Hogge and Lynn Hogge, both of Chatham, IL.; and two sisters, Helen Chezem and Mildred Watson, both of Quincy.

Mr. Hogge was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 10:00 at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Rev. Theron Hughes. Burial with Military Honors by Quincy American Legion Post #37 will be in Sunset Cemetery at the Illinois Veterans Home.

Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 and Monday until the time of services at the funeral home.
