
JAMES C. RICE
Mr. James C. Rice, 95, of the Timberpoint Health Care Center, formerly of RR 1 Quincy, died at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday (November 7, 2006) in Timberpoint Health Care Center in Camp Point.
Born December 17, 1910 in Clayton, Illinois, Mr. Rice was the son of William J. and Amanda Howe Rice. He married Vera Lorene Stephens on June 7, 1941 in Palmyra, Missouri. She survives.
Mr. Rice retired from Quincy Storage after 12 years of service. He was formerly employed for 10 years by Greenmount Cemetery and for 30 years by the Ulysses G., Lowell B. and Charles E. House families of Payson.
Survivors include his wife, Vera; one son, Larry D. Rice of Quincy; a daughter, Norma R. Dimmitt and her husband Louis of Loveland, CO.; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Rice was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, James D. Rice and Carl D. Rice; and two brothers, Jacob Rice and John Rice.
Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Quincy. Burial will be in the Southside Cemetery in Clayton.
Visitation will be Thursday morning from 9:00 until the time of services at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Salvation Army or the charity of the donor's choice.
