JANET L. JUNK

Mrs. Janet L. Junk, 68, of 713 North 13th, died at 5:53 a.m. Friday (May 9, 2008) in Blessing Hospital.

Born February 3, 1940 in Quincy, Janet was the daughter of Lyndle Ray and Henrietta Fossell Stanbridge. She married Howard Junk on April 23, 1960 in Mendon, Illinois. He survives.

Janet was a 1958 graduate of Quincy High School. She was a volunteer at Blessing Hospital for many years and was active with a water exercise group and sewing group. She enjoyed fishing and flower gardening and cherished the time she spent with her family.

Janet was a Pharmacy Technician at Earel & Buss Drug Store and previously was a cook at the Vermont Street Methodist Church Day Care.

Survivors include her husband, Howard; her mother, Henrietta Stanbridge of Quincy; a son, David Junk and his wife Rosemary of Quincy; a daughter, Karen L. Boyd and her husband Jason of Quincy; three grandchildren, Joshua Boyd, Justin Boyd and Matthew Boyd all of Quincy; three sisters, Lynda Stanbridge of Gilbert, AZ, Deanna Butler and her husband Jimmie and Vickie Tipton and her husband James both of Quincy; three nephews; two nieces; and many loving great nieces and great nephews.

Mrs. Junk was preceded in death by her father, LyndleStanbridge.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 10:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Ivan Greuter. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 and Tuesday until the time of services at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Blessing Cancer Center or Central Baptist Church.
