JEAN TAYLOR
Mrs. Hettie Eugenia "Jean" Taylor, 78, of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, formerly of Quincy, died Friday (October 7, 2005) in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
Born August 29, 1927 in Quincy, Jean was the daughter of John Wesley and Hattie Ann Holt Jackson. She married John Taylor on November 3, 1945. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include three sons. Donald Weathers and his wife Wilma of LaGrange, MO.; Clarence Jackson of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. and Charles Taylor and his wife Joyce of Quincy; three daughters, Major Vivian Childs and her husband Otis of Melbourne, FL., Alicia Johnson and her husband Eddie of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. and Carlotta "Susie" Gaines of Ft. Lauderdale, FL.; two brothers, Monzel Jackson and his wife Loretta of Quincy and Errett Jackson of Tampa, FL.; two sisters, Velma Jackson of Quincy and Patricia Slaughter; many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren; two Aunts; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her parents; a son, John Taylor; and two sisters, Johnamae Williams and Marion Douglas.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 1:30 in the Union Baptist Church, 935 Chestnut, by the Rev. Harold Davis Jr. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday afternoon from 12:00 until the time of services at the Union Baptist Church.
The Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Dialysis Unit of Blessing Hospital. The Repast will be at the Bethel A.M.E. Church, 905 Oak.
