
JOAN ELLEN SCHULTE
Mrs. Joan Ellen Schulte, 64, of 1711 E 1316th Street, Fowler, Illinois, died at 3:25 pm (Sunday January 10, 2010) in her home.
Born August 23, 1945 in Quincy, Joan was the daughter of James and Mary Ann Criswell Hagerty Jr. On August 8, 1964 she married Bernard "Butch" Schulte in Quincy. He survives.
A wonderful wife and caring mother who was devoted to her family, Joan took great pride and enjoyment in her children's and grandchildren's accomplishments and school activities. She enjoyed traveling, playing cards with her family and friends and the many years she spent coaching soccer in the Quinsippi Soccer League. A strong supporter of cancer research, Joan took an active part in the Cancer Relay for Life Program and other Cancer support groups.
A 1963 graduate of Quincy High School, Joan was employed at the CVS Pharmacy for over 30 years, retiring in 2009 due to ill health.
Survivors include her husband, Butch; a daughter Dawn Jenkins and her husband Tim of Warsaw, IL; a son, Ross Schulte and his wife Molly of Wentzville, MO; six grandchildren, Amber Jenkins and Kyle Jenkins of Warsaw, IL, Grant McMillen of Hamilton, IL, Kierstin Hummer and Christopher Hummer of Wentzville,MO and Delanee Schulte of Wentzville, MO; four sisters, Lee Ann Hagerty of Quincy, Jackie Henagan and her husband Pat of Humble, TX, Patricia Merkel and her husband Bill of Indianapolis, IN, and Cindy Spangler and her husband Kim of Hull, IL.
Mrs. Schulte was preceded in death by her parents.
Cremation rites have been accorded to Mrs. Schulte. The family would like to invite Joan's friends to share their memories and celebrate her life Thursday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Quincy
