JOEANN F. IRWIN BLACK

JoeAnn F. Black, 62, of Sharon Health Care in Peoria, formerly of Quincy, died at 1:37 a.m. Wednesday (April 2, 2008) in Proctor Hospital in Peoria.

Born June 18, 1945 in Quincy, Joe Ann was the daughter of Jewell and Fannie Shupe Irwin. She married Tony Black on December 9, 1969 in Quincy. He preceded her in death in 2003.

A 1964 graduate of Quincy High School, Joe Ann was employed at a nursing home in Montana before moving back to Illinois where she worked at Goodwill in Springfield and for the State of Illinois where she cleaned Rest Areas close to Springfield.

Joe Ann was a loving and caring person who loved to care for the elderly and cherished the time she spent with her famly. She loved the Lord and enjoyed reading and studying her Bible.

Survivors include her mother, Fannie Irwin of Quincy; two sons; a daughter; three brothers, Clyde Irwin and his companion Dorothy Manion of Quincy; Robert Irwin and his wife Donna of Gilford, N.H. and Everett Irwin and his companion Kiyoko of Quincy; an aunt, Ruth Markword; and three cousins, Jonetta Buss and her husband Harold of Columbus, IL., Rosalee Eickelschulte and her husband Ron and Dean Heitholt both of Quincy.

Joe Ann was preceded in death by her father, Jewell; a sister in infancy, Mary Paulette Irwin; and three aunts, Bernice Heitholt, Verneva Broderick and Helen Irwin; and two uncles, George Heitholt and Henry Broderick.

Graveside services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:00 in the Paloma Cemetery by the Rev. Tom Henderson.

Visitation will be Sunday from 12:30 to 1:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Quincy.
